Mystery Woman's Gift Of Note, $100 Bill Touches Parents

Mystery Woman's Gift Of Note, $100 Bill Touches Parents
An unnamed visitor walked into a Boston-area postpartum unit with a rose-colored box this weekend and that her mother and two sisters were born there and her mother would have turned 100 years old on that exact day.
As a tribute to her mom, the woman asked that the pink box be given to the first baby born on June 1 at the hospital.
It turned out that that baby was born to Lana and Fedja Pilja of Arlington at 2:41 a.m. on June 1st.

“I wish the woman who left the box would have left her name so we could say a huge thank you,” Pilja said.

The box was given to Lana and inside, was a $100 bill and a lovely note explaining how the bill signified the 100-year anniversary of their mother Rose’s birth.

“It’s such a unique gesture to celebrate your mother’s 100th birthday,” Pilja said.

A line from the card read, “The best gifts are the unexpected ones, inspired by love and kindness to others. Please accept this gift in that spirit.”

Although the Pilja’s are Croatian and normally wouldn’t use a middle name, the parents were so touched they named their daughter Milla “Rose” Pilja
